Alternative Medicine

As our patient you are going to be exposed to a combination of cutting edge devices we use in therapy, and some of the ancient/traditional methodologies. The combination of these is what makes us unique in our field and what gives the terrific results. Some of the traditional medicine methods we use are the following:

ACUPUNCTURE AND ACUPRESSURE

We offer acupuncture to support healing and treatment for common problems, such as:

• Low-back pain

• Neck pain

• Arthritis and knee pain

• Headaches and migraines

CUPPING

Cupping therapy has a history spanning thousands of years. A 2012 study showed that when combined with traditional medical treatment, acupuncture and cupping could provide benefits to patients suffering from multiple ailments, such as:

• Rheumatic disorders

• Pain and headaches

• Immunity disruptions

• Gastrointestinal disorders

• Respiratory problems

Chinese cupping is based on the findings that when creating vacuums using cups on specific points of a patient’s body, the life force within that person’s body can be restored to equilibrium. All obstructions, pain and inflammations, can be relieved to promote a sense of peace and well-being. Cupping facilitates blood flow in the area and stimulates the microcirculation, which are necessary in tissue healing. Our patients also experience a calming effect during both cupping and acupuncture.

Shiatsu Massage and acupressure

The Japanese word “Shiatsu” is translated as “finger pressure.” This therapy uses techniques of kneading, soothing and stretching to improve blood circulation and lymphatic function. CPT certified Shiatsu specialists use techniques based on knowledge of energy pathways in the body called meridians. Various styles of Shiatsu massage and acupressure evolved in Japan with a resurgence in popularity of Japanese medical therapies integrated with manual therapy and western medicine.
